C18th Accounts
These are accounts of West Cork written by travellers who visited the area during the eighteenth century.
C19th Accounts
These are accounts of West Cork written by travellers visiting the area, and authors of statistical accounts and surveys. They provide some historical perspectives on this rich maritime area.

This layer shows the Grand Jury Map of Cork.
Poetry
This layer provides a selection of West Cork Poetry. Some of the poems include audio clips of the poem being read. Both Irish and English poems are included. Poets include Máire Bhuí Ní Laeire, Jeremiah Joseph Callanan, James Clarence Mangan, Denis O’Sullivan and Jonathan Swift, as well as some traditional poems.
Soundbites
These are recordings of small extracts from conversations with local people about the environmental priorities we identified with them, and discussions about their connection with the coast. The interviewees were

The shapefile used in this map was downloaded in January 2018 and was correct at this date – it was originally created in ITM. It includes onshore and offshore Special Areas of Conservation.
