I.

Glengarriff harbour, your scenes are gorgeous,

And o’er your surface boats do glide,

Where thousands of tourists come to view your beauties,

They greet them all with a pleasant smile.

Chorus.

Those lovely fir trees are tall and handsome,

And on their branches the heron fly,—

Unto their nests which are built of bush-wood,

They sing their notes as we row bye.

II.

King Edward rowed o’er this body of water

With lots of laughter one fine summer’s day.

He visited all the points of interest

Along the lovely shores of Glengarriff Bay.

III.

His boatmen landed at the foot of Shrone Mountain,

King Edward then was young and gay.

He wandered round that noble hill top,

Where he had a lovely view of the Glen and Bay.

IV.

The fairy isles are now haunted,

And on those rocks they dance and play.

If you visited those isles on a moonlight night,

You could see those fairies without delay.

V.

Garnish Island, they call it Bryce land,

With its beautiful surroundings and lovely pond.

Also a casino and pavilion,

A noble boat-house and pier so grand.

VI.

He was highly delighted with his visit,

In those magnificent scenes you know.

He also fished the Proudly River,

Where salmon and trout were in great go.
